Meeting friendly locals & enjoying the breathtaking scenery, I was transformed by the peaceful existence on this remote mountain. The guys bid me farewell, urging me to return soon. I hug them & promise to return the following year, for I greatly miss their kindness & smile.
For a while, I lingered among the choeten &prayer flags with butterflies fluttering among the flowerbeds, listened to the soft wind breathing through the grass, watched the mist lift revealing distant peaks with soft clouds hugging the hillsides, & wondered how anyone could ever imagine a more peaceful spot on this troubled Earth.
Bhutan-the hidden jewel of the Himalayas-is equal parts myth & reality; cloud & shroud; lofty heights & soulful depths.
